Jaguar Land Rover has done quite amazing work in automotive safety with its Virtual Windscreen project. Currently the company is looking carefully to protect cyclists. Bike sense, the automaker’s newest R&D concept, uses numerous of in-car alerts to tell and warn driver about an approaching cyclist or motorcyclist in a thrilling speed. Moreover, there are also sensors, on the outside of the car, detecting the biker’s movement, and the very moment they get closer and closer, the bicycle bell or motorcycle horn blasts from the speaker closet to their location.
The system has also the capability to warn by tapping on the shoulder of a driver when someone is coming up from behind.
There’s also a collection of LED lights on the window sills that change from yellow to red when the bike approaches, and their movement shows the path that person is going to take.
Any way let’s not forget about heavy traffic and absent minded situations when the diver isn’t properly concentrated on alerts because of tiresome.
The system has taken into account that point as well. If the warnings are ignored, the system has the ability to vibrate the accelerator and cause it to feel stiff, keeping the driver from moving the vehicle forward. Lastly, the tech can also keep folks from opening doors and hitting cyclists
Isn’t it original and really innovative to protect bikers simultaneously keeping drivers away from hazardous accidents.
